The Santa Barbara XFactor 9U Baseball Club defeated the Simi Renegades 12-3 to win the USSSA June Gloom tournament on Sunday June 27 in Santa Barbara.

XFactor took the lead in the first inning thanks to an RBI from Dallas Knothe that scored JP Lopez. Knothe then scored on a Makoa Anderson two-run homer over the center court fence to give Xfactor a 3-0 lead.

XFactor extended their lead to 5-1 after Hudson Lang and Xander Glover were pushed back by Ryland Montgomery and Colt Minus.

XFactor added three points in the third and two in the fourth to bring the score to 10-3.

Ezekiel Martin and Oliver Palmer scored in the fifth for a 12-3 lead. Montgomery closed the door and secured the championship victory.

“I am so proud of this incredible group of players,” said Xfactor manager George Downing. “These guys are winning big tournaments against the best club teams and the best competition in Southern California. It’s absolutely awesome what they’ve accomplished so far this summer.”

The members of the Santa Barbara 9U XFactor team are: JP Lopez, Blake Downing, Dallas Knothe, Makoa Anderson, Ethan Caldwell, Ezekiel Martin, Oliver Palmer, Xander Glover, Hudson Lang, Ryland Montgomery, Colt Minus, Jayce Chrestenson and Krew Gray . The team is led by George Downing. Coaches include Tony Garcia, Justin Knothe, Ray Lopez, Darren Lang and Bryan Anderson.
