Drillers 8 / U Baseball Club ends 2021 season, shares stats
– Paso Robles 8-and-under Driller Baseball Club completed the 2021 travel ball season as the nation’s champions according to the National Championship Sports Baseball (NCS). The Drillers posted incredible statistics for the year. The powerful Drillers finished the season with an overall record of 44-4, won 9 of the 11 tournaments they have participated in and twice finished second.
The season started as a team with dominant pitchers according to head coach Andrew Berry. “Once our hitting matched our incredible throw, we became a great team. to 86.
In July, the team traveled to Sparks, Nevada and competed in the NCS World Series. The drillers completely dominated the tournament winning all five games and were crowned champions.
The boys now compete as a 9U and the victory continues. The first tournament of the season, the 9U Drillers traveled to Semi-Valley and took on Southern California’s top travel ball teams. The drillers hammered 13 home runs and did real damage with their bats (literally) three home runs on the left field fence hit three of the opponent’s parking cars and left evidence of the drillers’ power. Cooper Freitas hit three bombs in one game and Jackson Jeckel shocked the large crowd with a grand slam. The Drillers have scored 63 points in four games while allowing just two. Mays Sorrentino and Landon Berry lead the Drillers to tournament victory. Jay Flores has shown everyone why he is considered one of the best pitchers in the state, stopping opponents completely. Hudson Rodriguez, Mays Sorrentino and 7-year-old Deagan Brady also hit booming homers for the Drillers.

The 9U Drillers are currently ranked # 1 in the state according to the USSSA and will compete in tournaments across the state this year.
