Muhlenberg and 7 other Berks teams play District 3 baseball games on Monday


Berks League champion Muhlenberg and seven other county teams are scheduled to play District 3 baseball games on Monday.

The top-seeded Muhls (19-3) will face 16th-seeded Gettysburg (12-7) in a Class 5A first-round match at 7 p.m. at Gochnauer Field.

Also in Round 5A, No. 5 seed Exeter (15-6) will face No. 12 seed Twin Valley (12-8) at 4:30 in Reiffton. The Eagles beat the Raiders 3-1 in the regular season.

In 6A, 12th-seeded Wilson (10-10) travels to fifth-seeded Dallastown (16-4) in a first-round match at 4:30.

In 4A, the No. 9 seed Fleetwood (7-12) will go to the No. 8 seed Octorara (10-10) for a first-round match at 4:30.

In 3A, fourth-seeded Berks Catholic (12-8) will host fifth-seeded Bermudian Springs (9-10) in the quarterfinals at 4:30 p.m. at Forino Sports Complex.

In 2A, the No. 4 seed Kutztown (15-7) will travel to the No. 1 seed Camp Hill (15-4) for a semi-final at 4:30 with a place in the PIAA tournament on the line. Cougars beat fifth-seeded Newport 5-4 in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

In 1A, top seed High Point (13-3) will face fourth seed Greenwood (9-11) in the semifinals at 4:30 in Geigertown. The winner will earn a place in the PIAA.

All winners will advance to district games on Thursday.

Governor Mifflin (No. 1 in 6A), Hamburg (No. 4 in 4A) and Oley Valley (No. 2 in 3A) got passes and will start district play on Thursday.
